Goodies to end the week

Out and about on my travels recently, I've managed to pick up some pretty goodies which I thought you might like to take a look at - fancy it?

Not content with making one or 2 cushions, I thought I'd purchase some bark cloth to make - yes, you've guessed it - another patchwork cushion using just bark cloth.  These 2 pieces came from Ebay and they're so pretty I'm almost reluctant to snip away at them.

This pretty plastic floral bowl holds my pom-pom trim, lace and other notions.  It's almost a shame to put anything in it as you can't see the flowers but never mind.

I love these vintage London glasses - in their original box too.  I'm not sure where to put them yet as I'm rapidly running out of 'display' space.

We've almost finished re-doing the lounge - it's been repainted in a F & B paint which I really wasn't too sure about as I slapped it onto the walls, but now I've completed the room it has grown on me and it goes well with my curtains.  The room previously was quite ' busy' so looks quite stark in comparison now, but yesterday I changed that by getting a frame for a piece of  humble wrapping paper I had bought in Sussex a couple of months ago.

(I think you should be able to zoom in on it if you wish)

I'm amazed at how stunning wrapping paper can be and far too good to be used for it's purpose.  What do you think?

I love the style and colours of it.  It looks very majestic hanging above our sofa!

Caffeine's calling so I'll catch up with you soon - have a great weekend.

You could always have a changing display and put some of your things out one week/month and thenchange them for something else the next - though then you'd need storage space for the not on display items! Love that poster and it really took me back looking at the items on it. Remembering the coronation - now that's telling my age eh?! - and remembering having some of those books and maps. I agree it's far to nice to use for its original purpose.

Some super items there. Love those glasses and the box as well. The framed paper looks amazing, just my cup of tea. Might have to steal that idea if I can find some, if you don't mind. Brilliant!

I love the barkcloth, I've been searching for some for ages but without luck. Every time I find some on ebay the price goes through the roof!

There is certainly some fantastic wrapping paper around these days that I think would be dreadful to simply be ripped off of presents - you have framed it beautifully.

PS I love that plastic bowl.

What amazing wrapping paper, I love it, what a great idea
Another fab idea I saw was when someone had mounted different maps of places that were special to them and had the white mount board cut into heart shapes over the top...they looked amazing in white frames and was something personal to them

Have a great weekend,
Jane. x

Hello Sarah

That is fantastic wrapping paper I love the way you have framed it. I would love to own a sheet of that paper...when I saw the number 6 Bus...I was born in Bethnal Green in the east end of London, the No 6 bus was probably the 1st bus I ever went on...babe in arms and whenever we were stood waiting at a Bus Stop in childhood ...it was for the NO 6! LOL!
Would you mind sharing were you purchased the wrapping paper from please? Loove the bark cloth fabric too and the glasses...infact everything is just lovely, lovely.
LOVE PEACE enJOY
