Work in progress

Morning everyone, another glorious weekend again - let's hope it continues for the school holidays....!

Our weekend was fairly functional so I won't bore you with the details, but this week is going to be very busy with the installation of our wood burner.  Remember the rather large hole which had been dug out?  Well, finally it'll be filled this week with 1 of these.

It will give out so much heat, we could end up sitting in our underwear (I don't think so).  If hubby has his way, he'll be lighting it at the end of the week!

We also picked out these Victorian repro hearth tiles in cream.  They did a variety of colours, but as I'm not sure what colour the room will be, I thought it best to get them in cream.  It's been made up to our measurements and comes in 1 piece which makes it easy for installation.

So there you have it.  I also bought some pretty vintage curtains, so I think I'll pick a paint colour based on them.  They will hopefully arrive this week so I can show you a picture then.  They came from here

Thank you to the 1st 3 ladies who left a comment re the Pay It Forward - if Pat from The Sewing Room

Those woodburners are very very efficient. I remember visiting friends who had one and they had a fan on (in the middle of winter)as it was rather warm!

We had considered having one of those but will have to wait until we have an extention done as it won't quite work out with what we have now. We don't want to give up an open fire in our lounge. Good form of heating! I bet you can't wait for it all to be in working order.
Take care

We once stayed in a cottage that had a Morso like yours and it certainly gave out plenty of heat - we liked it so much we got a gas fired one for our own home and were also pleased with that. I know your winter evenings will be lovely and cosy now!

Nice looking woodburner! Having grown up with open fires I've now moved on to woodburners... and wouldn't be without one... they add a heart to a home :)

Hej Sarah
Thanks for your comment. Yes they are Lupins, these were taken at our sommer stuga. You can see them often growing abundently in the wild on the roadside in swathes of lilac/blue/pink through to white. Beautiful site.

Your woodburning is fantastic...we had one installed in the sommer stuga. And my hubby chose to light it in JULY!! To test it was working!!!! Boys and their toys lol!

Have a lovely Sunday
