A plan in action

Today is the day for putting my plan's into action, starting with Seville Orange Marmalade.  I haven't made marmalade for a number of years due to various factors but the primary one being the lack of seville oranges in the supermarkets, but good old Tesco's had some in stock so marmalade making is my mission.

Not one to faf around, I hate all the peeling, cutting and juicing of all the oranges, but I'm sure the end result will be worth it (one hopes!).  I've halved the quantities to make it easier.

Next on the list are hankies, children's hankies.  Whilst flicking through a book at the weekend, I spotted some children's (cafe style) curtains made from hankies.  Great idea I thought, but I figured I could use the hankies to make yet another cushion.  I'm not sure how I'm going to do it but it can't be any worse than the wretched towel trim I did last week - remember?

The possibilities are endless with hankies and something I'd never even given any thought to before -especially the children's ones.

I've almost completed my little knitted blanket.  I think my tension went wrong as sewing up some of the squares was a challenge, but heck, it adds character!!  I'll show you when it's completed.

So that's that, oh and I better get some work done inbetween that and school runs, em forgot about those..

I'll let you know how everything turns out.

Bye!

Marmalade making is on my list to do this afternoon too - got my oranges on Friday in Waitrose so must get on with it quickly!

Those hankies took me back to when our daughter was little and had some like them. I am sure the cushion will be great. You could join them with a piece of tape at the back so that you don't lose any of the borders and then perhaps embroider down the joins? (Not sure if you'll know what I mean but I am sure you have your own ideas anyway!) I look forward to seeing how you do it anyway.

Hope your marmalade turns out well. It really does sound like a labour of love.
